How Can I Help

By giving your time:  Volunteers are invaluable to Hospice, we need volunteers to  help us with everything from meals to our shop, gardening and helping with events.  We have a wonderful community of volunteers who have alot of fun working with each other helping Hospice.  If you would like to become a hospice volunteer or would just like to know more you can find more details under the volunteer section of this site "Click Here" or you could call us on 03 687 7670.

Fundraising events:
Donating some of your time can be a fun way to help raise money for hospice.  You may have a great idea for an event that you would like to organise for us or you may like to help with one of our many events.  Either way we'd love to hear from you.

Give to our charity shop:  Situated on the corner of Orbell and Rugby Streets is our lovely charity shop.  You can donate items of quality clothing and goods that can be enjoyed again by someone else.  The funding raised provides a valuable source of income for direct patient care and comfort.  Another way to help is to purchase goods from our shop, we have a lovely selection of clothing and goodies to view and we now have a gift voucher, this is a great way of giving twice, once to the recipient and also to Hospice when you purchase it.  We also list a small selection on Trade Me if you would like to see what we have listed this week Click here  while you are there save us as a favourite seller and you will be emailed our weekly listings.

Donations in lieu of flowers:
Donations in lieu of flowers are gratefully received at funerals from appreciative families. Funeral Directors have full details and can assist families with any wishes in this respect.

Making a bequest in your will:
A bequest can clearly record your wishes to help provide for others who live in your community and who require hospice services.  Bequests help us plan and fund our operation with confidence and continuity.

To bequest to the Community Trust Hospice Foundation please consult your solicitor, trust company or other legal adviser to ensure your wishes are acurately and legally stated.
